The first stage is simply a conversation; understanding what matters and allowing space for ideas to emerge. Together, we shape the early direction of your design around what feels right.

Natural Gemstones
Natural gemstones are ancient, rare and incredibly precious. As part of your bespoke experience, Moira curates a selection of responsibly sourced stones for you to explore, each chosen for its beauty and character.
Many clients discover gems they’ve never seen before, often finding the perfect stone in the most unexpected place.
Please note, we work exclusively with natural gemstones and do not use lab-created stones.
Hand-Drawn Designs
After your initial consultation, Moira translates your ideas into hand-drawn sketches, capturing the essence of your design and exploring how each detail can be refined.
Her drawings bring clarity to the vision, allowing the piece to take shape naturally around the character of the gemstones.
Form & Proportion
Moira’s drawings are translated into a 3D model, allowing the proportions to be refined before making. A wax version can also be created, giving you a sense of scale and balance in the hand.
When everything feels perfect and true to your vision, we move into the making stage, where your bespoke jewellery is crafted in the workshop.
Handcrafted in Scotland
When your final design is approved, your bespoke jewellery is handcrafted in Scotland.
Each piece is hallmarked in Edinburgh and bears the traditional Edinburgh Castle mark, which has been a symbol of quality and provenance for centuries.
Presentation
There’s always a bit of excitement in seeing a finished piece for the first time. Clients collecting from the studio are welcomed back to take their time, try it on and enjoy the moment properly.
For clients further afield, we arrange secure delivery and every piece is carefully packaged and presented with the same attention to detail.
High-value commissions can be delivered in person where appropriate.
Providing a magical bespoke experience has been my top priority since day one and when we get a lovely review from our clients it really means a lot to myself and the team.

FAQs
Is your jewellery ethical?
Ethical can mean different things to different people, so we tend to avoid using it as a blanket term. We prefer to be specific about the choices we make and talk about responsible jewellery instead.
We work in recycled gold as standard, with Fairtrade gold available on request. We use natural gemstones only, sourced through trusted partners with due diligence around origin and practices. Our jewellery is made in Scotland and the UK, and we don’t use overseas factories or large-scale production.

Do you have a minimum spend?
For bespoke commissions, we have a minimum spend of £8,000. We will always confirm the final price with you before commencing work on your bespoke piece.
Bespoke wedding rings start from £2,500. Due to limited workshop capacity, this service is currently reserved for our existing engagement ring clients.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes, many of our clients are based overseas, so it’s not a problem if you're unable to visit our showroom in Edinburgh. Our team is happy to work with you over the phone, video call and email. More info here
Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes, to allow us to provide the best possible experience, our showroom is by appointment only.
How long does the bespoke process take?
Most commissions take around 10 - 12 weeks from consultation to completion; depending on complexity and gemstone sourcing.
Do you have anything we can order today?
Yes, we have a selection of fine jewellery available to buy on the website here.
Where is your jewellery made?
Our jewellery is handcrafted in Scotland and hallmarked in Edinburgh.
At particularly busy times, or when additional specialist support is needed, we may also work with a small number of trusted craftspeople elsewhere in the UK.
We never outsource our jewellery to overseas factories or large-scale production, and every piece is made to the same standards of craftsmanship and finish.
Where do your gemstones come from?
We source our gemstones from a number of reputably suppliers based in UK who we know and trust. We also have suppliers for small, responsibly run mines worldwide and suppliers for fully-traceable Canadian diamonds.
Can we be discreet?
Absolutely, if you require discretion we can communicate via WhatsApp message or email to help you keep it a secret.
