Meet Moira

The rugged beauty of the Scottish landscape is a constant source of inspiration for me. From the epic mountains of the Highlands to the dramatic cliffs of the coastline, the natural world is intricately woven into the fabric of my identity and I think this comes out in my designs

Moira's Story

A curious and creative child, Moira’s fascination with gemstones and jewellery was formed in her early years. Her childhood memories are of an innate love of detail, of collecting wee shells, flowers and beads, and obsessing over the sparkling contents of her mother’s jewellery box.

In her late teens, Moira began her jewellery training at D.O.J College of Art & Design and won a prestigious Craftsmanship and Design Award from the National Association of Jewellers in her final year.

She then honed her skills with some of the world’s finest jewellery artisans, including Stephen Webster in London and Hamilton & Inches in Edinburgh.

Moira launched her independent jewellery studio in 2013, and soon carved a reputation for translating her clients' stories into truly personal jewellery. With over two decades of experience, Moira has a deep understanding of what makes jewellery so extraordinary.

Patience, has been a well known family name in The Highlands of Scotland for centuries.

Moira's mother’s family is from a wee fishing village on The Black Isle; a beautiful peninsula just north of Inverness. Moira was born up there and it’s a place that’s still very close to her heart.

She has written more about that connection in thr Journal entry: My Heart’s in the Highlands.

Through my rose tinted glasses I don’t remember it being cold or rainy; I have fond memories of swimming in the sea, watching dolphins from the point and searching for fairies in the forest.
