What are diamond accents on an engagement ring?
Accents are simply the side stones either side of the main gem and along the shoulder of the ring. They're designed to enhance the overall beauty and brilliance of the piece.
Why use accents?
The side stones add extra character to the piece and bring a beautiful sense of balance to the design. Having three or more stones also requires a larger setting so there’s more room for me to sneak in some extra special personal touches such as personal engraving or a hidden gemstone.
What gemstones work best for accents?
I love using diamond accents in my designs. For me, it’s one of the best ways to showcase a stunning gemstone. If it’s a coloured gemstone, the diamonds really accentuate the colour and make the main gem pop. If it’s a diamond, the smaller stones emphasise the size and proportion (and sometimes colour) of the larger diamond and enhance the sparkle.
