I bought this gemstone because I fell in love with the cut first of all. We call this 'buff top'. It has a domed, polished top with faceting underneath - the light shines from the facets under the curve and it creates a magical sparkle with beautiful colour.
A client saw the gem sparkling away in my cabinet and was drawn to it like a child in a sweetie shop. Immediately she had amazing ideas of how she wanted it set. I must say it was a bit of a dream come true coming up with designs to match her ideas!
We used natural yellow diamonds for the wheat as natural yellows have slight variation in colour which I think adds to the organic feel. All handmade in 18ct yellow gold, I'm delighted with how it turned out. It's now safely in the hands of the client - a show stopper for a VERY stylish lady!
